The BHC Winton Fund, through its wholly owned subsidiary which is a member of Lloyd's of London, has been established to provide risk capital to selected underwriting syndicates operating in the Lloyd's insurance market. The Fund provides investors the opportunity to participate in a vehicle engaged in insurance and reinsurance underwriting through access to a pool of carefully selected underwriting syndicates, all of which are thoroughly analyzed by the Fund's investment committee.
For over 300 years, Lloyd's has been a marketplace in which individual and, more recently, corporate members underwrite insurance and reinsurance business for their own account through underwriting syndicates. Lloyd's is largely a specialist, or niche, marketplace, known for the creativity and flexibility of its underwriters. Lloyd's currently has an A rating from A.M. Best, Fitch and Standard & Poor's.
